I'm Shaurya, based in Gurgaon, and I spend most of my time writing software.

I've been writing code for as long as I can remember, but the thing that really piqued my interest in software was a NASA competition in my school days where we had to design a space settlement, I learned quite a lot about 3D designing and how software works in those days.
The next thing that piqued my interest in college days was Crypto's and Blockchain, I quickly started building small utilities and landed my first job where I built an energy trading platform, an identity verification platform and someNFTs.

I slowly graduated to things that actually run in production and serve real users, which eventually led me to be highly focused on performance. There's something deeply satisfying about taking an idea from a rough design doc all the way to a shipped feature.

I'm a Staff Software Engineer at Harness.io, where I work on the Continuous Integration product. My day-to-day involves dabbling in anything JavaScript/TypeScript. I like owning features end-to-end, from system design to production.

Before Harness.io, I did stints at Wingify (VWO) and Newgen, and some earlier internships that shaped how I think about building software. I studied Computer Science, but honestly most of what I know came from obsessively reading source code, breaking things, and fixing them.

Outside of work, I write occasionally on this site about engineering, tools I find interesting, and ideas I'm thinking through. I'm always up for side projects. Long-term, I'm aiming to retire early with a cabin in the mountains, a husky, and code I write on my own terms with no deadlines. When I'm not at the keyboard, I'm either travelling, making videos, dancing, or training mixed martial arts.
